2018 Acura ILX vs the Competition

Compare the Acura ILX to Close Rivals

The Acura ILX is sporty, comfortable, and reliable, offering drivers a luxurious drive for an excellent price. So, if you're looking add some luxury and fun to your daily drive, the Acura ILX offers a splendid array of standard features to help you get the most out of the experience while supplying a fabulous value. Of course, the Acura ILX isn't the only one in the arena. Here at our dealership, we compared the Acura ILX with rivals like the Audi A3 and BMW 3 Series to see how they hold up to one another.

vs. Audi A3

Exterior

Better visibility is yours to enjoy when you drive the Acura ILX. Jewel Eye LED lights come standard, offering seven LED light elements to help you illuminate the path before you and enjoy a more confident experience behind the wheel. The Audi A3 comes with conventional headlights, which are not quite as adept at shining as brightly or as sharply.

The Acura ILX also features a pentagonal, emblem-like grille which serves to make it stand out while drawing attention to the fact that the Audi A3's grille might be overdue for a makeover. With a sharper, geometric design, the Acura ILX is poised to make more of a statement on Playa Vista roads.

Interior

Both the Acura ILX and Audi A3 come standard with heated front seats. However, only the Acura ILX comes with sport seats, a feature that is only available with a costly Audi A3 package upgrade. So, if you're looking for a sportier experience for less, the Acura ILX is better-equipped to give you what you need.

The Acura ILX also offers more legroom, shoulder room, and headroom to the driver and front passenger, making it the more comfortable choice on long drives. The Acura ILX even comes standard with Active Sound Control to help mitigate engine noise. The Audi A3 does not offer such a feature.

Technology

Focus is everything when you're on the road. That's why the Acura ILX offers a dual-screen infotainment system that allows you to switch between settings like climate and audio while still being able to control standard features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This way, you don't have to fiddle with menus when you're trying to drive. The Audi A3 offers a single-view infotainment display, forcing drivers to manage only one function at a time, which can be distracting.

Safety

Much of the value that you'll find within the Acura ILX is packed into the standard safety features that it offers with the Premium package. A multi-view rear camera outperforms the Audi A3's single-view camera. While the Audi A3 does offer a multi-view camera, it requires an upgrade. Other standard features with the Acura ILX Premium package include a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

vs. BMW 3 Series

Affordability

Even an Acura ILX model plucked from the highest tier is thousands of dollars below a base model BMW 3 Series. So, if you're looking for a sporty, luxury car experience that doesn't deal a vicious blow to your bank account, the Acura ILX is an exceptional place to start. The Acura ILX offers plenty of the style, performance, and upscale amenities that it needs to stand in the small luxury car ring, but its focus on delivering the most features for your money makes it a particularly aggressive competitor that Culver City drivers are sure to love.

Warranty

The Acura ILX continues to prove its phenomenal value with its warranty coverage. Both the Acura ILX and BMW 3 offer bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage for a four-year or 50,000-mile period. The Acura ILX edges past, however with a longer six-year or 70,000-mile powertrain warranty, offering more peace of mind to West Hollywood drivers for less.
